On today’s six mile run, I saw six deer, including a family of two does and two fawns who kept running back and forth across the trails I was on. We always made eye contact and lowered our heads at each other. Standing still, I wondered if they wondered
“Mister Human, can you tell me why others like you do this? We run and bound for food - what drives your kind to do it, here, too?”
Beyond this, I crafted a couple of haikus:
Life is bushwhacking
You have what you have
Believe your instincts.
Life is bushwhacking
Panic, and you will get lost
Push on, Trailblazer.
One day
In the meadow
On a hundred blooming milkweeds
I found Goliath
Hugging his Stem of Life
with tiny fingers.
No longer in the mist
You I finally saw again
And I missed my Stem of Life
a gentle kiss
catwoman
Distance means nothing
My heart is for you a home
Your pulse is my pulse
Mmmm mmm good…
*Perfect!
